The painkiller gabapentin 800mg, which is sold under the brand name Neurontin, is a gabapentinoids drug. Its chemical make-up is like that of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical found in the brain that affects the nervous system. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is mostly given to people with epilepsy to help their condition. However, it is also suggested for neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, hot flashes, and detox from drugs, alcohol, or cocaine. Because it is less addicting than opioid painkillers, gabapentin is often used instead. Still, a big part of customers become addicted and abuse it because of it.
